Jobsite
Platform migration
Jobsite is a UK-focused job board consisting of 6 different brands. The organisation needed to retire the Jobsite platform and seamlessly migrate its user base to Totaljobs, ensuring minimal disruption to its users using the platform.

Approach
I mapped user flows for both platforms to find the core red routes and the points where the two diverged.
I presented those flows to leadership, then built a migration proposal with product, research and tech leads around the transition points we suspected would hurt most. Rather than trust the suspicion, I prototyped those points and user-tested them.
The findings changed the plan.
I took them back to leadership and we moved development effort towards the areas testing showed were genuinely at risk.
Challenge
The project ran to a fixed deadline and a fixed budget, so I had to make decisions quickly and defend them with confidence. The bar throughout was that neither recruiters nor candidates should feel the transition happening.
Twenty-two development teams were working on the migration. Keeping them aligned was as much of a design problem as the interface itself. I made the user flows the single source of truth and presented against them regularly to leadership and to every team involved so that everyone was building towards the same map.
The workload outgrew one designer. I made the case for a second senior designer to take the B2B side, and defined the split so that I retained direction over the initiative as a whole.
Outcome
We retired Jobsite and migrated its user base to Totaljobs on time and within budget.
A migration usually loses people at two moments: when they are asked to do something again that they have already done, and when they are moved somewhere unfamiliar without being told why. Both decisions below were aimed at those moments.
Development focused on the red routes. Candidates crossed from Jobsite to Totaljobs at the point of viewing a job, and at the point of application chose a profile from either platform to continue with — which stopped the migration generating duplicate profiles at exactly the moment users were least tolerant of friction.
Recruiters are a more sensitive audience, so I moved their migration to the point of sign-in and paired it with onboarding that explained what they gained. Account managers contacted Enterprise clients and migrated them by hand. I also prioritised carrying across the most-used Jobsite features, a boolean search and candidate recommender among them which ended up benefiting existing Totaljobs customers too.
